Got something to say about Fermoy Print and Design?

We’d really like to how you feel about Fermoy Print and Design and the service we provide here.

At the moment we are constructing our new website and are looking to put testimonials up from customers who have liked what we are doing. For business customers in return we will display their artwork and include their contact details so people can contact you too. We are also going to create a page here on our blog entitled “Customers who like us” and this will be an extra platform for you.

100 words (or so) is sufficient. See below an example of a testimony sent to us by a customer of ours Colin Shine of Corrin Fire Protection. We will be publishing his testimony in full. Thank You, Colin.

If you were in any way unhappy with our service, we would also like to hear from you too. Please make it constructive so we can make sure to include your suggestions in how we continue to improve our business.

Please email all comments to mairead@fermoyprint.com

Fermoy Print and Design at Women Mean Business Conference, UCC

26 04 2011

On Tuesday April 12th we sent our Marketing and Sales woman, Máiréad O’Sullivan to UCC to the well attended the Women Mean Business conference entitled “Leadership and Women”. The main speaker with Sarah Newman, better known to many as the original female dragon from the Dragon’s Den who sold her business http://www.needahotel.com for a reported €50m. Sarah’s presentation was followed by a panel discussion on the issue of women and leadership with Máiréad Maher, Chief Executive of the Irish Examiner, Kay Roynane of Round Table Meditation and Training, Dr Jean van Sinderen-Law director of development at UCC and Samantha McConnell, IFG Chief Investment Officer.

“For me, Dr Jean van Sinderen-Law was most inspiring,” said Máiréad. “She spoke all about employers helping their employees to adopt an entrepreneurial spirit within their work place and taking leadership within an organisation. She was explaining how people take on more ownership and have greater drive when they have an entrepreneurial spirit in their workplace. A very interesting and inspiring point. From her presentation it was easy to see how she was 2010 Entrepreneur of the Year.”

“The same must be said for all of the ladies who were there speaking on the day. Each in their own right are inspiring and hard working business people and I have no doubt that every challenge they have come overcome is based on their own merit.”

Many thanks to everyone at the Women Mean Business magazine for organising the event.

Best of Luck Michelle

26 04 2011
Michelle as the clown

Michelle as the clown in the Fermoy St Patrick's Day Parade earlier this year.

This past weekend we waved farewell and best of luck to one of our most trusted employees, Michelle. Word has it that she has landed safely in Australia and is looking forward to spreading the good news about Fermoy Print and Design down under.

Michelle is such a multi-talented person that she worked in a number of different departments here with us including production, admin and deliveries and there is no doubt that her smiling face and cheerful demeanor will be missed about the place.

In our recent St Patrick’s Day parade Michelle dressed up as a clown and charmed both children and adults in Fermoy on the day. Our float took our company tagline “Bringing Your Life to Print” quite literally as you can see the characters of our giant-size greeting cards are alive!

No matter what job Michelle gets in Australia there is no doubt that she will be a roaring success and an asset to the business. You can tell them we said so, Michelle. Just send us some sunshine to try and fill your absence.

New Appointments Paul O'Sullivan and Rebecca

New Recruits Paul OSullivan (Production Assistant) and Rebecca Roche (Graphic Designer) are going to be great assets to our team at Fermoy Print & Design

More good news at Fermoy Print & Design this week as we welcome two new full-time members of staff.

Graphic Designer Rebecca Roche and Production Assistant and Photographer Paul O’Sullivan have joined our team at Fermoy Print & Design.

Rebecca is a very talented designer and while she has been working part-time with us since August 2010, by popular demand she has gone full-time. Originally from Fermoy, Rebecca completed a Diploma in Graphic Design at Coláiste Dhulaigh in Dublin before completing a Degree in Graphic Design in the University of Wolverhampton.

No stranger to hard work, Rebecca spent two months volunteering in Central America with the Mayfield Arts Centre working on a project exploring Integration and Development through art between Ireland and Guatemala. Quoting ‘Life’ as her immediate inspiration, Rebecca said that the beauty in everyday things and the unique qualities of people are very often the inspiration for alot of her work. See some samples of her work below.

Paul maybe new to the area of printing but he’s not stranger to the arts. An accomplished photographer, Paul has always had an interest in the different types of print and is excited about the new venture with the company. Paul has spent most of his career (16 years) in the hospitality sector, working at managerial level in pubs and function rooms and the change of scenery comes as a welcome challenge. Fermoy Print and Design are excited to add a photographer to the list of services we provide for customers and to enhance all the artwork needed to be done. You can check out some of Paul’s beautiful photography on his facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/pauljamesphotography. We have inserted below a small sample of Paul’s work.

Our company CEO, Liam Barry has said he is delighted that he has two new “dedicated and talented” people to add to his already successful team. “The company is expanding and growing in many positive ways at this moment. We have always been fortunate in the staff we have hired and are delighted to have two more dedicated and talented individuals to add to this team.”
